Privacy
I'm Victor Conte. I run Impossible Aquariums from Florida, and this is my site. This page lists what the site collects, who handles it, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and how people find the site. It records the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site that sent you. Google stores this with cookies whose names start with _ga. There are no ads on this site and I don't sell data.
Rebuilt pages show a small notice about analytics. If your browser uses a European time zone or sends Global Privacy Control, analytics stays off until you press Yes. Everyone else can turn it off from the notice. Pages I haven't rebuilt yet load Google Analytics without the notice. To block it everywhere, use Google's opt-out add-on or your browser's tracking protection.
Forms and email
The forms on this site send what you type to Basin (usebasin.com), a form service that forwards it to my inbox. Depending on the form, that is your name, email, message, the items on a kit request, or the tank details from the Aquarium AI page. Emails you send me go to my Gmail account.
I use your email to reply to you or to send the updates you signed up for. I don't sell it or give it to anyone.
Purchases
Digital products, like the SUBEX report, are sold through Gumroad. Gumroad handles the payment and shares your email and order with me so I can deliver it. I never see your card details.
Affiliate links
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some links to Amazon and to partner brands are affiliate links, so the seller pays me a commission when you buy through one. The seller may set its own cookies to credit the sale. I see sales totals, not who bought.
Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page. Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which also sends your IP address to Google.
Saved in your browser
Some pages save small things in your own browser, such as your cookie choice or the steps you ticked on the SLESS build checklist. This uses localStorage, stays on your device, and is never sent to me. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
Other sites
Links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other sites take you to those sites, under their own privacy rules. Nothing from them is embedded here.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Your data
Email me at impossibleaquarium@gmail.com to see, correct or delete what I have from you: form messages, emails and list signups. I'll confirm by email when it's done. To leave the email list, reply to any update.
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
